The eighth year of the Imperial Design Symposium was devoted to the current trend of art photography, which has become an integral part of design exhibitions at home and abroad.
Five photographers participated. Young authors Jan Douša, Čeněk Folk and Petr Pustina let their collective work be freely inspired by the historical photographs of the Hotel Imperial employees.
Within the symposium the created group and individual portraits of employees, both those who the guests generally meet and those who are “less” visible, such as chambermaids or the gardener. The photographs were made in the classic for on large-format 4 x 5 inch black and white sheet film. The other two participants, Petr Kuklík and Petr Krejčí, focused on photos to be used by the Imperial Karlovy Vary company in its marketing materials.
